More than 50 of the region’s best wineries and brewers will ensure the 2023 Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival is an outstanding success.

The Lovedale event, to take place at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley (formerly Crowne Plaza) on Saturday 24 June between 11am and 5pm, also features quality dining and entertainment for locals and visitors alike.

Festival coordinator Lisa Doppler said everyone was looking forward to the extravaganza, given the area’s recent triumphs throughout the viticulture industry.

“With the Hunter Valley boasting an outstanding 2023 vintage, there will be plenty of reasons to taste the wines from legendary producers such as Drayton’s, Brokenwood, Hungerford Hill, McGuigans and Pepper Tree, as well as boutique wineries like Gundog, Gartelman, 1813 and Comyns & Co,” she explained.

“Brewers such as Block n Tackle Brewery, Shout and Sydney Brewery are exhibiting, too, along with an enticing array of tempting artisan foods from providores including the Upper Hunter Smokehouse, Donarch Fine Chocolates and the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory.

“Chloe Gill (11am-2pm) and the Felix Quinn Band (2pm-5pm) will provide entertainment throughout the day.

“The Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival is a family-friendly event, with children receiving complimentary entry, where they will enjoy a variety of activities including a jumping castle, train rides and face painting.

“There’ll be lots of onsite parking at Rydges Resort as well and, for visitors staying in the Hunter Valley over the weekend, Vineyard Shuttles will provide return transfers.”

Once again, the festival is supporting the local NSW Rural Fire Service, via fundraising activities.

General admission tickets are available for $15 per person ($25 per person on the day) through Moshtix (booking fees apply).

Children have free access to the event when accompanying parents.

Tastings are also available for $2 each (30ml wine, 100ml beer/cider), with cans of beer also available.
